1. Who we are and what this covers

This policy applies to besttechtrend.com, its subdomains, and the review, comparison and landing pages we publish under them (together, the “Site”). For the purposes of UK and EU data protection law we are the controller of the personal data described here.

It does not cover any other company’s website. When you click a link and leave our Site — to a retailer, a brand, a checkout page or anywhere else — you are covered by that company’s privacy policy, not this one. See section 8.

You can read almost everything on this Site without telling us anything about yourself. Where you do choose to give us information, it is limited to:

Like nearly every website, ours records certain technical information when you visit. This is collected by our own systems and by the analytics, advertising and affiliate providers described in section 4.

• Your IP address, and the approximate location (typically country or region) derived from it
• Device and browser information — device type, operating system, browser and version, screen size and language
• The page that referred you to us, and the search terms or campaign parameters in the link you followed
• Which pages you view, how long you stay, what you click, and how far you scroll
• The date and time of your visit, and a cookie or similar identifier used to recognise your browser on a return visit

We use this in aggregate to understand which reviews are useful, to fix problems, to detect fraudulent or automated traffic, and to attribute affiliate clicks correctly.

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We and our partners also use related technologies such as pixels, web beacons, tags, SDKs and local storage. We group them as follows:

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies through its settings, and most offer a private browsing mode. Blocking cookies will not stop you reading the Site, though some things may not work as intended. • Detect, investigate and prevent fraud, abuse, scraping and automated traffic
• Comply with our legal obligations, and establish or defend legal claims

We share personal information only in these situations:

• Service providers. Companies that host the Site, deliver our email, provide analytics, or supply affiliate and advertising technology. They may use the information only to provide the service to us.
• Affiliate networks and merchants. When you click an outbound link, the network and merchant receive the referral information needed to attribute the click, such as our affiliate identifier and standard technical data.
• Legal and safety. Where we are required to disclose information by law, court order or a valid request from a public authority, or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, safety, or that of others.
• Business transfer. If the Site or our business is sold, merged or reorganised, information may transfer to the acquirer as part of that transaction.

We do not share your personal information for any other purpose.

8. Third-party sites and merchants

BestTechTrend does not sell products. Every purchase link takes you to another company’s website, and from that moment their privacy policy, terms and security practices apply — not ours.

We have no control over, and take no responsibility for, what those companies collect or how they use it. If you are about to hand over your name, address or payment details, read the policy on the site you are actually buying from.

9. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, and then delete it or render it non-identifying. In practice:

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold, including encryption of traffic to and from the Site and restricting access to the people who need it.

No website or method of transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send us sensitive information by email, and be cautious about anyone who asks you for payment details in our name — we never will.

11. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over the personal information we hold about you:

• Access — ask for a copy of what we hold
• Correction — have inaccurate information corrected
• Deletion — ask us to erase your information
• Restriction — ask us to limit how we use it
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time
• Portability — receive your information in a portable format
• Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, withdraw it at any time

To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We will respond within the time limit the law allows, and we may need to ask you for information to verify who you are. We will not charge you or treat you differently for making a request.

If you are in the UK or EEA and you are unhappy with our response, you have the right to complain to your national data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

12. Israeli privacy rights

We are established in Israel, and our handling of personal information is subject to the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741–1981 and the regulations made under it, as amended.

Under that law you have the right to:

• Inspect information held about you. You may ask to review the personal information we hold about you in our databases, either yourself or through a representative authorised by you in writing.
• Ask us to correct or delete it. If, having reviewed your information, you find it is incorrect, incomplete, unclear or out of date, you may ask us to amend or erase it.
• Be removed from direct-marketing lists. If we hold your details for the purpose of direct mailing, you may ask in writing to be removed, and we will do so.

Send any such request to [email protected]. We may ask you for information to confirm your identity before we act. Where we decline a request, we will tell you why, and you may challenge that refusal before the competent court in the manner the law provides.

Israel’s Privacy Protection Authority (PPA) supervises compliance with the Protection of Privacy Law, and you may contact it if you believe we have mishandled your personal information.

13. US state privacy rights

Residents of California and of other states with comprehensive privacy laws have rights to know what personal information is collected about them, to request its deletion or correction, to receive a copy of it, and to opt out of its sale or of “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.

We do not sell personal information for money. However, the use of advertising and analytics cookies on this Site may amount to a “sale” or “sharing” as those terms are broadly defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and in similar state laws. You can opt out by:

• Declining or clearing non-essential cookies in your browser
• Enabling a Global Privacy Control signal (see section 16)
• Using the industry opt-out tools listed in section 4
• Emailing [email protected] with “Do Not Sell or Share” in the subject line

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age. An authorised agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorisation.

14. Children’s privacy

This Site is intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 (or under 13 in the United States, as defined by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act).

15. International transfers

We and our service providers operate internationally, so information collected through the Site may be stored and processed in countries whose data protection laws differ from those where you live.

We are based in Israel, and personal information collected through the Site is processed there. Israel is recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection, and is similarly recognised under the UK regime. Personal data may therefore be transferred from the EEA and the UK to us in Israel without any additional safeguard being required.

Some of our service providers — hosting, email delivery, analytics and advertising partners — operate in the United States or other countries that do not benefit from an adequacy decision. For those onward transfers we rely on an appropriate safeguard recognised under applicable law, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses together with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or the provider’s certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension.

16. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

There is still no common industry standard for responding to browser “Do Not Track” headers, so we do not respond to them.

We do recognise the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Where your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information from that browser. You can learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Site, our partners or the law change. The version published on this page is always the current one, and the “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.

Where a change materially affects your rights, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to your attention. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
